Psychewalks of Eternal Karma – Swamp EP

Psychewalks picks up where they left on their first demo. This means they plays some dirty heavy 70’s inspired hard rock. But what makes this gang of youngsters so damn interesting is the blend in of both prog and jazzy elements. It’s like you will never know in which direction the tunes will go and what scheme of rhythm they will follow. In many ways their way of playing is like fellow wonder kids Pearls and Brass. Anchorman – I must say – is singer and guitarist Lasse who both delivers convincing and ever changing riffing with a sound so retro it’s almost dusty, but also sings like a 50 year old hard drinking and big bearded stoner. But the music is also spiced up with cool organ especially heard in the background of “Karma Riffs” which also has some heavy bass play. In “Mulm” the jazzy style is really dominating and this track also has a very Spanish - or even Mexican feel to it. The track “Cease that Infernal Tootling” might be the one which is the more progressive with the rhythm group twisting the structure around. In all this band again shows that they have the ability to go far.
