Henry's Funeral Shoe

"Henry's Funeral Shoe was formed by two brothers in 2008 from South Wales, inspired and influenced by many of the albums that singer/guitarist Aled Clifford had looted from his father's vinyl collection when he was growing up. The Who, CCR, Peter Green, Robert Johnson and the Beatles were favourites, and Aled quickly became a gifted guitar player, aided and taught by Ned Edwards, a long time collaborator of Van Morrison. Aled soon played with various bands, eventually doing some recording sessions for producer Ian Grimble, and even recording at the legendary Abbey Road studios. His younger brother Brennig started playing drums at nine. At fifteen he joined a local band, learning his trade by performing covers of The Clash and Thin Lizzy before moving on to writing original material. The dexterous brothers have finally joined forces to create some of the loudest soulful rock'n'roll to come out the UK in a long time. Their debut album "Everything's For Sale" scheduled for release in March 2009 is a fun and raucous mix of heavy rock and psychedelic blues which reminds us that the U.K can produce more than great pop music, but also some amazing rock'n'roll. Don't lose the rhythm!"

Some cool news from Alive Records. First of all there's a new release with Buffalo Killers called "Let it Ride". It's gonna be mega-cool to get that limited edition LP. And its produced by Dan Auerbach ...

But what's even more interesting is that Radio Moscow started recording a new record in june. Wow, I'm looking forward to that one. The first album was killer ...

Alive Records might be one of the coolest labels at the moment ;-)

RADIO MOSCOW | Radio Moscow

Radio Moscow is two 21 year old dudes playing retro psychedelic blues-rock in the real early 70’ish freaked out way like Orange Sunshine. Parker Griggs handles guitar, drums, percussion and vocals while Luke McDuff plays bass. This record is all about guitar soloing in the extreme wanked-out way high on smoke. If you dig playing air-guitar you’ll be in heaven all 37 minutes. Especially the almost 6 min long “Deep Blue Sea” is pounding heavy yet slow and swampy with slide-guitar and so bluesy it’s hard to believe these guys were born in the mid 80’ies. The record is produced by no other than Dan Auerbach from The Black Keys - actually it’s even recorded in Auerbach’s own studio The Pie Co. It’s a fine piece of retro rock that will warm the hearts of all stoned music freaks who think that lava lamps and blacklight posters is the coolest stuff ever invented.

If you dig: Hendrix, Nebula, Causa Sui
