Psychewalks of Eternal Karma – Swamp EP

Psychewalks picks up where they left on their first demo. This means they plays some dirty heavy 70’s inspired hard rock. But what makes this gang of youngsters so damn interesting is the blend in of both prog and jazzy elements. It’s like you will never know in which direction the tunes will go and what scheme of rhythm they will follow. In many ways their way of playing is like fellow wonder kids Pearls and Brass. Anchorman – I must say – is singer and guitarist Lasse who both delivers convincing and ever changing riffing with a sound so retro it’s almost dusty, but also sings like a 50 year old hard drinking and big bearded stoner. But the music is also spiced up with cool organ especially heard in the background of “Karma Riffs” which also has some heavy bass play. In “Mulm” the jazzy style is really dominating and this track also has a very Spanish - or even Mexican feel to it. The track “Cease that Infernal Tootling” might be the one which is the more progressive with the rhythm group twisting the structure around. In all this band again shows that they have the ability to go far.

Psychewalks of Eternal Karma

Here's a new video of the Psychewalking youngsters rehearsing the song Karma Riffs. A fucking great band of 16 year old guys grooving like grown men. Click the labels for more posts about the band.

Roadburn Festival

Long time, no see - or something. Bought some records (surprise), went to some shows (another surprise) and drank some beers (no way!). Of interest was the Doomed Denmark show at Dragens Hule with Graveyard. Freaking night with the newsters Psychwalks of Eternal Karma that were given the chance to play outside of their usual youthclub communitive. They did well, but had difficulties with the singing - the voises were simply not strong enough for their big sound. Graveyard kicked ass and so did Highway Child. Anyway, this was about Roadburn. Well, a fucking long story, so to cut it short: Fly to Amsterdam, find hostel, buy AK47 skunk, get really stoned, visit a couple of bars, go to bed. Train to Tilburg, find hotel, get food, go to the festival, Great music, great vibe, great everything. Friday, saturday and sunday went on as well. Okay except for the sunday that ended high on E and we were locked out of the hotel and the friday high on shrooms and wandering around staring at buildings. Anyway, back to A-dam monday and hang for the day before flight at night. Cool new bands to me: Diagonal, Taint, Danava, Zone Six, Beehover Lived up to the expectations: Baby Woodrose, Assemble Head, Electric Orange, Gave me more than expected: Litmus, Groundhogs, Gentlemans Pistols, La Ira de Dios, Earthless, Acid Mothers Guru, Graveyard, Dzjenghis Khan, Ramesses, The Glasspack, Orange Sunshine Below average: Capricorns, Boris, Witchcraft, Grand Magus Pure shite to me: Serpent Cult, Blood on the Sun, Trouble, Cephalic Carnage, Repomen Stuff I didn't see: Well, the rest by diffent reasons - or I only saw a few songs, or I don't remember ... I'm in love with Holland ...

Psychewalks of Eternal Karma

How often do you find youngsters that just loves to play music in the good old fashioned way like Blue Cheer and so on? Well, I just discovered this new danish band. This is what they have to say about themselves:

"We are a group of 4 boys at the age of 16. We met at Sejergaardsskolen in Tølløse this year. and we've been playing together ever since. The style of music is heavy, 70's inspired, downtuned, stoner rock with some psychedelic soundscapes, and a slightly overdriven hammond organ in there. Also lots of fuzzy guitars and bass, will be found throughout the whole thing."

And they fucking rocks my shoes off ...
